32nd Solar Return Bucket List

This past weekend, Easter Sunday, was also my 32nd birthday. 32 is a weird number and an age that I never really considered before. It’s a shame how women aren’t really shown too many diverse examples of relatable experiences beyond our 20s, it’s really all about marriage and motherhood. I’ve got the marriage down, while motherhood seems at least a few more years away. I’ve decided that this year, for me, is really about cultivating the life I want to live and who I am within it, becoming my highest self. Dealing with all those sticky past experiences that I haven’t fully integrated yet, listening to my inner voice and intuition, following my dreams and passions, and cultivating an abundance mindset. The pandemic gave me a lot of opportunity to ruminate on these things and now that life is finally starting to trudge toward normalcy, it’s time to put the things I’ve learned into action. In the spirit of thoughts and feelings aligning with action, I thought I’d share my 32nd Solar Return Bucket List with you, 33 things I want to do before 33!

  1. Redo and renovate my home studio

  2. Make my watercolor painting from my dreams

  3. Spend a day making art somewhere out in the world

  4. Teach more students about creativity

  5. Pursue my Soul Collage Certification

  6. Get back into book arts

  7. Take advantage of the beach this summer

  8. Spend time creating with friends

  9. Make a large scale collage portrait

  10. Make a small scale beaded piece

  11. Make a video about something

  12. Get out to the desert

  13. Listen to all my Joni Mitchell records

  14. Have a fancy picnic in the park

  15. Be more of a diarist and historian for my own life

  16. Break out the hoola hoop more

  17. Cultivate my magical practice even more

  18. Make a few art objects to sell

  19. Participate in an art show

  20. Participate in an art market

  21. Spend more time in nature, even take a nature-centric vacation

  22. Fill in my art journal more

  23. Give myself more time for creative play

  24. Connect to other creatives and artists around me

  25. Give myself time to research things I’m interested in

  26. Play my bongos and guitar more

  27. Get involved with volunteering somewhere

  28. Play in my sketchbook

  29. Lots of quality time with the people I love

  30. Watch more sunsets

  31. Create something totally new

  32. Allow myself to be surprised

  33. Shift my mindset towards abundance

Some of these are things that I can’t just check off after one day but things I’ll be actively working on throughout this year. It’s good to have a dream, and like I said, align this dream with conscious action. I’ve started off my solar return with an uncrossing candle, and uncrossings can be a lot to process because they’re about getting out of your own way, being honest with yourself, and finally moving past obstacles that you might have been struggling with for a while. It’s interesting how the pandemic has brought all of these feelings into high relief for me. I’ll document the processes on here (I want to use this space so much more because I love creating on here!) and I want to keep pushing myself towards my goals and highest vibrational self. Happy Aries season!
